About Me

My photo
IMAGINATION IS THE EYE OF THE SOUL Joseph Joubert. I am a mother of four...I still remember the smile that refused to go away for weeks after our daughters birth. To have a little girl appear after three sons seemed such a miracle. I have always enjoyed My Doll World, sharing it with Lara when she was little. Today I design knitted outfits for miniature dolls and enjoy every minute of it. The fact that the outfits are removable is what makes it so special for me. Using ever finer threads has opened so many MINIATURE DESIGN opportunities.

Miniature Knitting Patterns Belly Button Baby

The latest little outfit is presently winging it's way to the USA...

It is a version of the very first outfit "Candy" that I designed for a miniature doll.

This little outfit was knitted in Madeira Catona 80 cotton thread.

MONICA     for Belly Button Baby

Funny how one begins a design thinking,  Shaz, just knit with the new finer thread, while Fenny my sister in law is visiting....

No pressure,  mind on the gentle rhythm of the knitting needles, creating a calm centre of pleasure....

Then all things change....

The work on your needles becomes a variation, now how did that happen, not an exact replication at all, but becomes something new......was it the different thread that helped make the changes.

One has to concentrate more than one would if reproducing a design already written out in pattern form, but it is still fun.

  8. Beautiful! I have just bought some of the Madeira thread and it took me forever just to cast on and knit a few rows. It is so fine!!! It makes me appreciate your intricate work even more.

  9. Her 'customer' is more than 'over the moon' and is delighted beyond belief! I've seen, and own many very fine miniatures, and these little pieces are true wonders. The guage is so fine it takes two pair of magnifying glasses, on top of the ones I'm already wearing, to take in the incredibly fragile delicacy of it all ... when held in hand. All the photos are magnified at least two times over, and show the detail wonderfully, but appear gigantic by comparison when considering the incomprehensible detail of the originals. It took me a full day and a half before I trusted myself to remove them from their presentation card for fear I might ruin the perfection I was beholding. Thank you my good friend for adding such loveliness to my collection. Not even the smallest of small faeries could weave magic like this.
